‘Miracles do happen’: A mother shares her NICU success story

While sharing her story mother Umangpreet, who delivered baby Viha at Motherhood Chaitanya Hospital, prematurely shared her emotions when her baby had to be admitted to the NICU due to weight issues.
She said: “My daughter was in NICU for 51 days and received good treatment. She came home healthy; thanks to the Motherhood Chaitanya Hospital understanding staff and excellent facilities.”
Now Umangpreet lives in Dubai with her husband, a nine-year-old daughter and the newest addition to their family, baby Viha. “I have been in Dubai for the last nine years and my husband’s job brought us to the city. My elder daughter is studying here.”
“During the delivery, my blood pressure was quite high,” said Umangpreet. “My first delivery was also 22 days early. Dr. PoonamGarg Specialist Obstetrician and Gynecologist at Motherhood Chaitanya Hospital treated me well from the beginning. When I started getting complications during childbirth, she came back to treat me, even though she was off duty. “
Baby Viha was born at 29 weeks gestation and weighted only 1.8 grams. She had many ups and downs during her long stay of 51 days in ICU, But she was a fighter and did not give up when her condition became very serious. We also went through a very stressful period. Best thing was that doctors and staff of ICU were very open, transparent and kept us regularly informed about Viha’s condition. Of course, ICU was fully equipped with latest machines and experience staff. Thanks to them, Viha was discharged in healthy condition.
