COUPLES IN A NUCLEAR FAMILY SHOULD CONSIDER ENROLLING IN AN EASY BIRTH PROGRAM

Couples who live in a nuclear family must take these classes as they do not have their elders to guide and support them. Moreover, these classes give you an opportunity to become friends with other pregnant women and share common experiences.

What are antenatal classes?

Antenatal classes or parentcraft classes are designed to prepare you for your childbirth. They teach you practical techniques such as relaxation, breathing, and postures for labour. It also teaches you the right techniques for baby care and breastfeeding.

How does an easy birth program benefit a pregnant lady?

There are many pieces of evidence which suggest that women cope better with their labour pain if they have attended antenatal classes during pregnancy. In these classes, you learn about what to expect during labour, birthing skills, and tips on how both parents can cope up during labour and afterward. In short, the easy birth program prepares you for a short and smooth delivery experience.

I am a working lady. Can I attend classes at weekend?

Today most women continue their jobs during pregnancy and have long working hours. So, we conduct our class on weekends as well. We also teach you how to do your exercises at home so that you can continue your exercises during weekdays.

What is the right time to start exercise classes for a pregnant lady?

Our doctors recommend starting exercise classes from the 4th month of your pregnancy. And, the perfect time for counseling sessions is during 8 – 12 weeks of pregnancy. We recommend you to come with your partner and elders for counseling sessions.

Will easy birth exercises help in reducing labour pain?

No, the exercises directly doesn’t reduce labour pain but instead, the exercises help you during labour by teaching your various techniques to cope up the pain.
From our experience of the past 12 years, we have seen that ladies who take easy birth exercises during pregnancy are more relaxed and calm during the time of labour. So, yes taking these exercised will help in reducing the labour pain.
